5th day of Eleint, 1729
The Forest of Wyrms is a good source
of ,Gulthias Wood, and I have returned with an barely adequate supply. I had
noticed odd growths in the Forest of Wyrms. Flies and maggots were overly
abundant in the rotted undergrowth of the forest. And there were strange
markings upon a number of rocks and trees. I chose to return early. I have not
lived to be 443 years because I am reckless.
I am going to a few of my clockwork
mice to investigate for me.
10th day of Eleint, 1729
The clockwork mice have not reported
back. I am going to go myself. I am still in need of Gulthias wood. I will take
my huntsman with me.
14th day of Eleint, 1729
Call me a Took for worrying. Yes,
there were a few demons there, but they were small foul creatures, easily
dismissed by my huntsman’s axe. I have captured a few, minor demons with the
aid of my huntsman. I am curious to find if they can be useful.
But after seeing, a rather large
dragon, soar across the treetops, followed by a hoard of hobgoblins and demons
on the ground not far from me.
Baervan or Flandal was with me, for
the foul pack did not notice me.
I and my huntsman returned quickly
but quietly

What I had seen the forest has been puzzling me. Why had such an
odd collection of creatures be following a dragon. Dragons do attract lesser
creatures who worship them and do their bidding, especially given the nature of
the Forest Of Wyrms, but to have demons subjugated to
such a creature is unheard of.
Clearly the markings I have seen refer to some sort of dragon or
dragon god.
Is it my imagination or did I see a demon with just such a
marking on its chest.
Here is my best remembrance of it.
I am fortunate that they did not see me or see me leave,
otherwise I would not feel safe, even here in my home.
